Dr Matt Burgess

Dr Burgess has worked with some of the top medical institutions in Sydney and Melbourne, helping shape the future of genetic medicine in Australia. He brings deep expertise in counselling, diagnostics, and patient care.
He is Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) and an active member of the Australasian Society of Genetic Counsellors. He currently serves on the HGSA’s Education, Ethics, and Social Issues Committee. His contributions extend globally as a life member of the Asia Pacific Society of Human Genetics and a founding member of the Professional Genetic Counselors Society in Asia.
He is passionate about demystifying genetic testing and empowering healthcare professionals with accurate, clinically actionable insights — and works closely with referring practitioners to support the best possible outcomes.
